Exhibition / Weaving the Future III / COD / 8 – 31 Otober, 2021 / Tirana
Weaving the Future III is an exhibition that was hosted at the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD), represented by 35 Greek artists as part of the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the movements that led to the independence of Greece from the Ottoman Empire, curated by Efi Michalarou. The exhibition presented works of various media such as: painting, installation, photography, video and performance, realized through traditional techniques including: embroidery, loom, knitting, sewing, canvas, thread and fabric, transformed into videos, sculptures and contemporary installations. These works were displayed from 8 – 31 October 2021.
The Weaving the Future III series is a project that started in June 2021 in Athens, which was developed and then exhibited in various places and galleries. Weaving the Future III focuses on the nature and creativity of women, as well as the key role they have played throughout history. This project brought together 35 Greek female artists who in their artistic practices use traditional methods and tools to display them later in a contemporary way.
The works of the artists where exhibited throughout the premises of COD, bringing a variety of colors and notions to their artistic coexistence. Through their work, the artists display textile elements used in time as part of their culture, which transmit the important role that women have played in history, including the social, political and economic aspects of society. The creations of the artists combine the traditional elements with the modern materials creating a garment with deep roots from the past, that integrate in a new dialogue with the viewer.

Weaving the Future III mban titullin ekspozita e hapur në Qendrën për Hapje dhe Dialog (COD) e përfaqësuar nga 35 artiste greke në kuadër të 200 vjetorit të nisjes së levizjeve që çuan në pavarësi Greqinë nga Perandoria Osmane, kuruar nga Efi Michalarou. Ekspozita paraqet punë në mediume të ndryshme si: pikturë, instalacion, fotografi, video dhe performancë, të realizuara me anë të teknikave tradicionale duke përfshirë: qëndisje, tezgjah, thurje, qepje, kanavacë, fije dhe pëlhurë duke u transformuar në skulptura, video dhe instalacione bashkëkohore. Këto vepra u mbajtën të ekspozuara për publikun nga data 8 – 31 tetor 2021.
Seria Weaving the Future III është një projekt që ka nisur prej qershorit të 2021 në Athinë, duke u zhvilluar dhe ekspozuar më pas në vende dhe galeri të ndryshme. Weaving the Future III përqëndrohet në natyrën dhe krijimtarinë e gruas si dhe rolin kyç që ka patur përgjatë historisë. Ky projekt bëri bashkë 35 artiste greke të cilat në praktikat e tyre artistike përdorin metodat dhe mjetet tradicionale për t’i shfaqur ato më pas në mënyrë bashkëkohore.
Veprat e artisteve janë të ekspozuara në të gjithë ambientet e COD, duke sjellë një larmishmëri ngjyrash dhe nocionesh në bashkëjetesën e tyre artistike. Artistet përmes punës së tyre shfaqin elemente tekstilesh të përdorura në kohë si pjesë e kulturës së tyre, që përcjellin rolin e rëndësishëm që ka patur gruaja në histori, përfshirë këtu aspektin social, politik dhe ekonomik të shoqërisë. Krijimet e artisteve ndërthurin elementet tradicionale me materialet moderne duke krijuar një petk me rrënjë të thella nga e kaluara që integrohen në një dialog të ri me shikuesin.
