Harabel Contemporary Art Platform, in collaboration with Italian Institute of Culture, has invited writer and curator Simone Frangi for a talk at Harabel living room this June 7th 2019, at 18:30.
In his academic and curatorial works, Simone Frangi explores the relationships between visuality, phenomenology of bodies and their politics with a focus on normative gender and racial assignations. Through various projects, he had been recently collaborating with artists and practitioners who try to deconstruct current European and especially Italian culture of coloniality.
During his talk he will present his perspectives on theory as a form of action, on visual studies as a field of critical struggle and some related questions on curatorial activism and the political function of cultural research.
About the curator:
*Simone Frangi is a researcher, writer and curator. He holds a french-italian PhD in Aestethics and Theory of Art. From 2013 to 2017 he has been artistic director of Viafarini – Non profit Organization for Contemporary Artistic Research and curator of DOCVA – Documentation Center of Visual Arts (Milan, IT). He currently co-directs Live Works – Performance Act Award at Centrale Fies (Trento, IT) and A Natural Oasis? Transnational Research Programme organized by Little Constellation – Network of Contemporary Art focused on Geo-cultural Micro-areas and Small States of Europe for BJCEM. He’s Lecturer on Theory of Contemporary Art at Fine Arts and Design Academy in Grenoble (FR) – where he founded the workshop and residency based research program “Practices of Hospitality”.
In 2015, he was one of the five curators of the 10th edition of Furla Prize for Contemporary Art and in 2016 one of the ten curators of Quadriennale of Rome. In 2018 he was guest curator at Museion (Bozen) where he presented the program Somatechnics. Transparent travelers and obscure nobodies. In 2020 he will be co-directing MEDITERRANEA 19 – Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean.

Platforma e Artit Bashkëkohor HARABEL ka kënaqësinë t’ju ftojë në bashkëbisedimin vijues, në të cilin do të jetë ligjërues shkrimtari dhe kuratori Simone Frangi. Bashkëbisedimi zhvillohet në bashkëpunim me Institutin Italian të Kulturës në mjedisin Harabel, më 7 qershor 2019, ora 18:30.
Në veprat e tij akademike dhe kuratoriale, Simone Frangi hulumton marrëdhëniet midis anës së jashtme dhe fenomenologjisë së trupave (njohjes në brendësi), duke u përqendruar në normat që vendos shoqëria sipas përkatësive racore. Fjala e tij do të nisë pikërisht me këtë, për të folur më pas rreth përvojës që ai ka pasur së fundmi falë bashkëpunimeve të ndryshme me artistë që përpiqen të shpërbëjnë kulturën e tanishme europiane dhe veçanërisht atë italiane të kolonizimit.
Simone Frangi do të flasë gjithashtu rreth pritshmërive të tij lidhur me teorinë – e cila është në vetvete një formë veprimi – si dhe lidhur me studimet mbi artin pamor si pjesë e ngërçit kritik. Në mbyllje, ai do të prekë edhe çështjet mbi veprimtarinë kuratoriale dhe kërkimin kulturor.
Rreth kuratorit:
* Simone Frangi është hulumtues, shkrimtar dhe kurator. Ai ka mbrojtur një doktoratë franko-italiane në fushën e estetikës dhe teorisë së artit. Që prej vitit 2013 deri në vitin 2017 ka qenë drejtor artistik i Viafarinit (organizatë jofitimprurëse për kërkime artistike bashkëkohore) dhe kurator i DOCVA-s (Qendër Dokumentuese e Arteve Pamore, Milano, It.). Sot ai bashkëdrejton “Live Works – Performance Act Award ” në Centrale Fies (Trento, IT) dhe “A Natural Oasis? Transnational Research Programme”, organizuar nga “Little Constellation” (“Yjësia e vogël”) – Rrjet i Artit Bashkëkohor i përqendruar në mikrohapësirat gjeokulturore dhe shtetet e vogla të Europës për BJCEM-in.
Ai është ligjërues i lëndës së teorisë së artit bashkëkohor në Akademinë e Arteve të Bukura dhe Dizajnit në Grenoble (Fr.). Në vitin 2015, ai ishte një nga pesë kuratorët e edicionit të dhjetë të çmimit “Furla” për artin bashkëkohor dhe në vitin 2016 një nga dhjetë kuratorët e Quadriennale-s së Romës. Në vitin 2018 ai ishte kurator i ftuar në Museion (Bozen) ku paraqiti programin “Somatechnics. Transparent travelers and obscure nobodies”. Në vitin 2020 ai do të bashkëdrejtojë Bienalen e Artistëve të Rinj nga Europa dhe Mesdheu, MEDITERRANEA 19.
