Exhibition / “Process” / “FAB”, “Kalo”, “Zenit” / 26th of November – 16th of December 2018 / Tirana
The University of Arts and the Faculty of Fine Arts is the organizer of “Process”, the cultural activity starting from November 29th to December 16th 2018 and will be held in the premises of the “FAB”, “Kalo” and “Zenit” galleries in Tirana. Curated by Ilir Kaso, this activity is named as such because, as it is stated in the curatorial text: “… the creative process is an essential element of the artistic activity of each of us”.
Precisely because art can not be simplified to the number of technical skills, the question he raises targets to the contemporary art schools for the kind of knowledge and skill they pass on As a result, Kasos’s proposal comes with the idea to transform the exhibition space into an exploration space where the creative process of the work is felt more than its definitive definition. The idea came from the photographic series that the world-famous Albanian artist Gjon Mili made to Picasso, a photograph of which has been placed at the entrance of the “FAB” gallery.
This activity represents the creative performance combined with the pedagogical and scientific side. In itself it carries: symposiums, workshops and open conversations on art and pedagogy issues, attended by professors (inclined to scientific studies) and former students of the University of Arts. Moreover, the “Process” activity is presented to the public with painting, sculpture, installation, photography and video art.
Artists and University of Art professors: Albes Fusha, Arben Bajo, Ardian Isufi, Ardian Pepa, Edison Çeraj, Edmond Gjikopulli, Ergys Krisiko, Ermal Baboçi, Fatmir Miziri, Florian Haxhihyseni, Gazmend Leka, Harri Aleksi, Kreshnik Xhiku, Mikel Temo, Orlis Vathi, Sadik Spahija, Shpëtim Kërçova, Viktor Ferraj, Vladimir Llakaj and Vladimir Myrtezaj become part of an activity that travels in space and time. In this exhibition, the art professors participated with new works and artworks they have worked through the years.
With no intention to reflect art serving art, this activity is closely linked to all the problems affecting society. Through numerous collaborations of artists-professors, curator Ilir Kaso has attempted to reflect how man crumbled nature in the name of development (mass concrete); the possibility of being found within a filtering bubble of knowledge (information) by deepening and strengthening personal beliefs, which can be transformed into extremities from the filtered news in a divided society (lost of trust in ruling institutions); coexistence of different religious identities as a constant challenge; the role of all natural inhabitants in its up keeping or rapid destruction (nature).
Part of the selection is also the hyper-realistic reflection of life fragments, noting, in spite of joyful coloration, social poverty in general. Illustrations of our consumer trend are also in the attention of the curator. Mankind, in both genders, appears directly and indirectly as a creature and creator, builder and destroyer of everything, god and self-slave.
* Ilir Kaso was born in 1982 in Përmet. He graduated in 2005 from the Academy of Arts in Tirana. He is the author of four personal exhibitions: “Reality Dreamers”, FAB gallery, Tirana, Albania, 2012. “Oxymoron”, Lokal-int gallery, Biel-Bienne, Switzerland 2012. “I am the river”, Beton 7 gallery, Athens, Greece and Miza Gallery, Tirana, Albania, 2013. Kaso has been awarded for the experimentation in graphic style “Balkanima” 2005, “AMC” award as the best Albanian contemporary artist 2007, audience award “TIFF” 2009, award for the best image in “Anifest ROZAFA” 2010, best Albanian animated movie award “Albanian Film Festival” 2012, audience award in “DocuTIFF” 2015. He lives in Tirana and works as a lecturer at the University of Arts of Tirana.

Ekspozitë / “Proces” / “FAB”, “Kalo”, “Zenit” / 26 nëntor – 16 dhjetor 2018 / Tiranë
Universiteti i Arteve dhe Fakulteti i Arteve të Bukura zhvilloi veprimtarinë kulturore “Proces” duke nisur prej datës 29 nëntor deri më 16 dhjetor 2018 në mjediset e galerive “FAB”, “Kalo” dhe “Zenit” në Tiranë. Kuruar nga Ilir Kaso, kjo veprimtari emërtohet kështu, pasi, siç ai shprehet në tekstin kuratorial: “…procesi krijues është element thelbësor në veprimtarinë artistike të secilit prej nesh”.
Pikërisht sepse arti nuk mund të thjeshtohet te shuma e aftësive teknike, pyetja që ai ngre, shkon në drejtim të shkollave bashkëkohore të artit për llojin e dijes dhe mjeshtërisë që përcillet në to. Për rrjedhojë, lind edhe propozimi i Kasos për ta kthyer hapësirën e ekspozimit në një hapësirë eksplorimi ku mund të ndihet procesi krijues i veprës më shumë sesa përkufizimi përfundimtar i saj. E gjithë kjo zë fill nga seria fotografike që artisti shqiptar me famë botërore, Gjon Mili, i bëri Pikasos, një fotografi prej të cilave zë vend në hyrje të galerisë “FAB”.
Kjo veprimtari paraqet ecurinë krijuese ndërthurur me anën pedagogjike dhe atë shkencore. Ajo mbart në vetvete: simpoziume, punëtorí dhe biseda të hapura mbi çështje arti dhe pedagogjie, në të cilat marrin pjesë pedagogë (të prirur drejt studimeve shkencore) dhe ish-studentë të Universitetit të Arteve. Për më tepër, veprimtaria “Proces” paraqitet para publikut edhe me pikturën, skulpturën, instalacionin, fotografinë dhe video-artin.
Artistët dhe profesorët e Universitetit të Arteve: Albes Fusha, Arben Bajo, Ardian Isufi, Ardian Pepa, Edison Çeraj, Edmond Gjikopulli, Ergys Krisiko, Ermal Baboçi, Fatmir Miziri, Florian Haxhihyseni, Gazmend Leka, Harri Aleksi, Kreshnik Xhiku, Merita Selimi, Mikel Temo, Orlis Vathi, Sadik Spahija, Shpëtim Kërçova, Viktor Ferraj, Vladimir Llakaj dhe Vladimir Myrtezaj bëhen pjesë e një veprimtarie që ecën në hapësirë dhe kohë. Në këtë ekspozitë profesorët e arteve bëhen pjesë me punime të reja, por edhe të punuara në vite.
Duke mos pasur synim pasqyrimin e artit në shërbim të artit, veprimtaria lidhet ngushtë me gjithfarë problematikash që prekin shoqërinë. Kuratori Ilir Kaso është përpjekur të pasqyrojë përmes bashkëpunimesh të shumta të artistëve-pedagogë mënyrën se si njeriu shkërmoq natyrën në emër të zhvillimit (betonizimi masiv); mundësinë e të gjendurit brenda një flluske filtrimi dijesimi (informimi), duke thelluar e forcuar bindjet vetjake, të cilat mund të shndërrohen në të skajshme nga lajmi i filtruar në një shoqëri të ndarë (besimi i humbur në institucionet drejtuese); bashkëjetesën e identiteteve të ndryshme fetare si një sfidë e vazhdueshme; rolin e mbarë pjesëtarëve natyrorë në mbarëvajtjen ose shkatërrimin me ritme të shpejta të saj (natyrës).
Pjesë e përzgjedhjes është edhe pasqyrimi hiperrealist i copëzave jetësore, duke vënë në dukje, pavarësisht ngjyrimit të gëzueshëm, varfërimin shoqëror përgjithësisht. Ilustrime nga prirja jonë konsumiste janë po ashtu në vëmendje të kuratorit. Njeriu, në të dyja gjinitë e tij, vjen në ekspozitë drejtpërdrejt dhe tërthorazi, si krijesë dhe krijues, ndërtues dhe shkatërrues i shumëçkaje, zot dhe skllav i vetvetes.
* Ilir Kaso ka lindur në vitin 1982 në Përmet. Ai u diplomua në vitin 2005 nga Akademia e Arteve në Tiranë. Ai është autor i katër ekspozitave personale: “Reality Dreamers “, galeria FAB, Tiranë, Shqipëri, 2012. “Oxymoron”, galeria Lokal-int, Biel-Bienne, Zvicër 2012. “Unë jam lumi”, Athinë, Greqi dhe galeria “Miza”, Tiranë, Shqipëri, 2013. Kaso ka fituar çmime për eksperimentimin në stilin grafik, “Balkanima” 2005, çmimin “AMC” si artisti më i mirë shqiptar bashkëkohor 2007, çmimi i audiencës “TIFF” 2009, çmimin për imazhin më të mirë në “Anifest ROZAFA” 2010, çmimin “Festivali i Filmit Shqiptar” 2012, çmimi i audiencës në “DocuTIFF” 2015. Ai jeton në Tiranë dhe punon si pedagog në Universitetin e Arteve të Tiranës.
